Mithali Raj-led Railways registered a much
needed win over Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in the ongoing senior
women’s domestic T20 tournament on Tuesday. Railways posted 103-3 in their full
quota of 20 overs, riding on the splendid batting performances of skipper
Mithali Raj (41*) and Veda Krishnamurthy (36). Later in the day, Railways
bowlers got the better off Hyderabad and restricted them to 76-8, thus winning
the match by 27 runs. Poonam Yadav (3-17) and Ekta Bisht (2-14) bowled well,
not allowing Hyderabad to come close to the target. Railways will play their next match against
West Bengal on Wednesday. They have won two out of three games and will have to
come strong at Bengal to ensure a berth in the knock-outs.
