This New Year seems to be smiling on Mumbai as the Mumbai
girls registered their third straight victory in the ongoing senior women’s
domestic T20 tournament in the match that was played against Uttar Pradesh in
Lucknow on Monday. Sulakshana Naik (28) and Humaira Kazi (27*) helped Mumbai post
102-9 on board. Later in the day, Mumbai bowlers bowled well as a unit and restricted
Uttar Pradesh for a paltry 65-7, thus winning the match by 37 runs. Mumbai will
play its last match of the league stage against Vidarbha on Wednesday. Mumbai
looks in good shape to top Plate Group B and be a strong contender to fight for
a berth in the Elite Group next year.
