Flaunting the lion’s crest on their jerseys, Mumbai girls
continue to roar and rule in the senior women’s domestic T20 tournament. Mumbai
has so far been unbeaten in the on-going tournament and has made a smooth sail
into the finals, when they thrashed Himachal Pradesh by 26 runs in Ranchi on
Wednesday. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sulakshana Naik shined
with the bat scoring 55 off 56 balls, helping Mumbai to amass 126-7 in 20
overs. In reply, Mumbai exhibited disciplined bowling performance, restricting
Himachal Pradesh to 100-9. Nancy Daruwalla (2-22) was the pick of the bowlers
and received good support from the other end. Mumbai has qualified for the
final and will lock horns against Uttar Pradesh on Friday in Ranchi.
